Honoring Sean Flaherty’s Contributions & Growth
“Sean has been a tremendous asset to Paradigm. He ideally fits our delivery model where we have the opportunity to leverage his skills and abilities across multiple engagements at the right time to exceed our business objectives,” states Sam Engram, Executive Vice President.
Q: What has been your most rewarding experience in working at Paradigm?
A: On one of my most recent projects, I have the opportunity to be a liaison between the business and IT groups at the client site. It’s great because I’ve been able to utilize a wide range of skillsets and I’m seen as a valuable asset in supporting the ongoing discussions on how Paradigm’s team can help the client mature their capabilities in the realm of process automation.
Q: How has Paradigm enhanced your career based on the numerous projects you’ve worked on?
A: Paradigm has enabled me to enter two new industry verticals that I hadn’t previously had the exposure to in my consulting career. In the past, my consulting experience has been very developmental and technical, whereas now, I’ve had the chance to do a lot of business analysis. This has given me a much better overall perspective of consulting and working on projects – These new types of industry and project exposure have let me look at everything from a different perspective. The variations in projects have let me grow to learn new technologies – it’s super challenging but I love it because it means I’m growing as a consultant faster than I ever have before.
Q: What are some of the advantages in working with Paradigm when breaking into the consulting business?
A: The thing that stands out the most for me is that I’m treated as more than just another employee – I think many people can feel lost in large, corporate consulting companies. At Paradigm I’m not just a number in the grand scheme of things. One of the things that drives that notion for me is the start-up feel. Because we as a company are growing and developing our practices and capabilities, everyone consulting has a hand in what happens next.
I also have to say that I have great co-workers that are always looking to help in any way they can. A supportive team environment definitely makes my day better!
Q: What type of new technology are you focused on that could enhance your career?
A: As of recent, I have been focusing on developing my skills in RPA (Robotic Process Automation). It’s a really exciting technology that companies have a lot of need for right now in order to help manage the efforts surrounding the creation of automatic, robot-driven, processes that can help reduce the human labor required for repetitive tasks. It allows employees to spend more time using their humanistic skills rather than spending time on menial tasks that can otherwise be automated.
Q: What advice would you give to people interested in joining a firm like Paradigm Technology?
A: If you prefer a close-knit work environment, rather than lots of consultants having to navigate through the politics of working at a larger company, then Paradigm could be the right fit. Here you get to be a part of something that’s growing, where you can have a much more significant impact. You don’t necessarily get that added value elsewhere. At Paradigm you, like I have, can have the opportunity to wear a lot of different hats and gain exposure to so many things in such a short period of time. You won’t be too stuck in one particular workstream. Reach out and see how your career goals align with the vision Paradigm has in place for the future!
